Learning Resources
For those who wish to explore the practice seriously, meaningful education requires more substance than the familiar basics: use plenty of lube, trim your nails, consider a duckbill, and proceed slowly. While these maxims are good advice, they lack the depth necessary to develop good technique.
The best resource for learning how to fist is through a seasoned fister in a one-on-one or small group environment.
For individual research, a google search for Anal Fisting will yield five types of educational resources:
- Pornography | Porn is a great resource, but most fisters believe it is a poor way to learn fisting because porn focuses on such a small portion of the fisting encounter.
- Clickbait | Many corporate content providers (health and lifestyle blogs) attempt to teach fisting with clickbait articles. You'll learn about trimming your nails, going slow, and using lots of a promoted lube. Unfortunately, the lube promoted doesn't work for fisting.
- Outreach Guides | Sexual health clinics occasionally publish guides on fisting. These cover the basics and work well when coupled with porn.
- Medical Journals | A limited number of journal articles exist that explain the practice from a medical perspective, but most focus on injury or psychosocial issues.
- Fisting Websites, Blogs, and Forums | Several community members operate blogs that teach various aspects of fisting. These are generally the most comprehensive resources available. Additionally, forums exist on Asspig and Reddit for asking questions and sharing advice. Electronic instruction booklets (PDFS) are passed around in Telegram and WhatsApp groups.
